Team Information

Joining a team is a great way to reinforce your commitment to the 21st Annual Hospice Hope Run.

Hope Run teams are fun and raise even more awareness about Hospice. Organizing teams ignite friendly competition which drives participation up at the event and helps us generate even more needed funds for the cause.

There are three easy steps to begin:

Get Ready - As a Team Captain, you will need to register and establish your team before others can join online. Teams will consist of 10 or more members.

Get Set - Gather your friends and family, colleagues and neighbors.

Go! Anticipate a day full of activity, fun, food and entertainment with your Teamates!

When gathering members of your teams, and alerting friends and family about your participation in this year's race, we encourage you to share some heart-warming Hospice stories with them. Angie Murphrey, a Hope Run participant, wrote us a letter sharing what her experience meant to her during the race: click here to read her story.

It's also nice to hear directly from the people that you are affecting with your participation. Click here to listen to Maria's story.

Please encourage your Teammates to register for this very fun Post Run Event!

Tips to help get your team started:

    • Take action, get started early and register as a Team Captain!

    • Give your Team a name. A Team can be named in Honor or in Memory of someone special. Or you can come up with something that is fun and catchy like rhyming names. Have fun with this and make your Team name meaningful.

    • Create a Team identifier. This can be a Team T-shirt, ball cap, bandana or signage. This will help to build camaraderie, momentum and energy.

    • Set Team goals in terms of how many Team members you wish to recruit and how much money you want your Team to raise.

    • Recruit people on your Team who have a passion for Hospice and a passion for fundraising.

    • Share your story and the reason you are participating. Telling your story can be more powerful then just asking for a donation.

    • Build a fundraising page or encourage your Team members to build their own. The more personalized your page, the more meaningful the message.

    • Encourage Team members to send out their fundraising pages to as many friends, neighbors and colleagues they think would be interested in supporting them.

    • Be persistent. A lot of final donations come from people who follow up. Stay in touch and in close communications with your supporters.

    • Corporate Matching Gift Programs: This is an easy way to double your contributions. Make sure to tell your Team members to check with their employer.

    • Pick up your Team Packet and distribute in a timely manner to your Team members. You will receive Hope Run T-shirts, bibs, the D-Tags for competitive runner’s and Run day information.

    • Finalize your Run day plans. Carpool if possible and determine a  meeting place and gather as a team.

    • Enjoy the Run day breakfast provided, and Aerobic Warm-ups together.

    • Participate in the 21st Annual Hope Run!

    • Enjoy Post Run Entertainment and Awards Presentation.
