Mimi's Purple Butterflies
Welcome to Mimi's Purple Butterflies!!!
We have entered a new decade of life without Mimi. It is hard to believe it has been 10 years since I held her in my arms. We are excited to continue keeping her memory alive and race to remember this year. Purple was mom's favorite color and she loved butterflies. For me the butterfly symbolizes her ability to break away, be free, and fly away from the pain she experienced. Hospice helped her with this transformation. It was in the last few days of her life, that our family became aware of the Palliative Care services at Forsyth Hospital. The mission of the Trellis Supportive Care Center is to provide compassionate care for those individuals living with a life-limiting illness and their families, through quality medical, emotional, spiritual, and social support. The staff at Forsyth Hospital and Trellis lived up to their mission with my family. I had no idea about the depth of these services before my mother's passing. The care they provided helped my mom pass on with dignity and without suffering and they helped me to cope with the loss. This is an organization that most everyone will need at some point in their life, whether it is for themselves or a loved one.
Over the last decade our team has raised over $35,000 in donations and been recognized for participation. We are so excited you are joining us in our efforts this year. Dust off your wings and get ready to race!
