2017 Hope Run

Hospice is HOPE!

Dear Friends,

This year in 2017 we will be celebrating the 21st Anniversary of the Hospice ! In celebration of the longevity and impact this event makes, I am organizing my team in Memory of my sister, Diana and three very special friends that I have lost, Elizabeth McLean, Melissa Utt and Savannah Oakes. I miss them very much! I will be honoring the Hospice staff and volunteers whom I am honored to work beside of every day.

During the 8 years I have been working at Hospice, I have seen the lives of our patients and their families transformed from fear, uncertainty and anxiety to peace of mind, understanding, acceptance and HOPE! Many have been my own personal friends and people who have made a difference and impacted my life in meaningful ways.

In April of 2014, our family had our own personal Hospice experience when my sister, Diana, passed away at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. I can share with you that we were all grateful for the extraordinary level of care that Diana received and we appreciated the support given to us too. The end of a loved one’s life is very difficult but having the caring and compassionate Hospice staff available was a great source of trust and relief.

We all have earned the care of Hospice at the end of life! Personally for me, being involved in any way with patients and their families at the end of life has been the most rewarding and humbling experience I have ever had. I am blessed.

Please consider helping my team meet our fundraising goals so we can give back to Hospice who gives so much to so many people at the most vulnerable time of their lives. I encourage you to set your own personal fundraising goal on your personal page and with as many friends and family members as you can. By sharing your commitment with others, we can do something very positive for an important cause in our community.

So let’s come together, grow our team, help raise much needed funds and make April 29th a happy day for Hospice.

Thank you for your support! It means so much to me.  Please plan to register you, your family and friends and stay for the Post Run Pig Out so we can celebrate our accomplishments together.

With warm appreciation,

Carolyn
